Entity Limits & Useful Commands

📖 How Entity Limits Work

Minecraft is designed primarily as a single-player game. To keep the server running smoothly with many players online, Simple Survival limits how many mobs and entities can exist within an area.

Entity limits are applied across a 5×5 chunk area, not just a single chunk. This means nearby chunks all count towards the same limit.

💡 For example, if you have 10 Villagers in one chunk, you won’t be able to add more Villagers within the surrounding 5×5 chunk area. To create another trading hall, it must be at least 3 chunks away (with 2 empty chunks between each area).

Any entities exceeding the limit will be automatically removed. Attempting to bypass these limits may result in punishment.

📦 Item Despawn Times

To reduce lag, dropped items merge over a larger area than vanilla Minecraft and despawn sooner.

🛠️ Useful Commands

📍 Player Warps

Player Warps let you create public teleport locations for other players to visit.

Creating a Warp

Obtain a Warp Token (available from the Vote Shop or Reward Crates).
Redeem the token by left-clicking it.
Stand where you want the warp.
Run /warp set <name>.

Note: Warps can only be created inside your own land claims. If the claim is removed, the warp will also be deleted. Warps automatically expire after 30 days of inactivity.

Customising Your Warp

/warp desc set <warp> <description> - Set a description.
/warp category <warp> <category> - Choose a category (House, Farm, PvP, etc.).
/warp icon set - Set the icon using the item you’re holding.
/warp reset <warp> - Move the warp (Costs $25,000).
/warp rename <warp> <new name> - Rename the warp (Costs $25,000).
/warp rate <warp> <1-5> - Rate another player’s warp.

Please rate warps fairly and avoid abusing the rating system.

🏡 Land Claims

Land Claims protect your builds and prevent other players from editing them without permission.

Creating a Claim

First, obtain a Golden Shovel by crafting one or using:

/kit claim

Useful commands:

/claim - Instantly creates an 11×11 claim around you.
/claimslist - View all of your claims.
Right-click with a Stick to check who owns a claim.

You can also create custom-sized claims by selecting two corners with a Golden Shovel. Claims must be at least 100 blocks in size.

Running trust commands outside a claim applies them to all of your claims.

Managing Claims

/expandclaim <number> - Expand or shrink a claim.
Resize manually by moving the claim corners with a Golden Shovel.
/subdivideclaim - Create protected areas inside an existing claim.
/unclaim - Remove a subdivision (or claim).
/restrictsubclaim - Give a subdivision its own permissions instead of inheriting from the parent claim.

📦 Magic Hoppers

Magic Hoppers automatically collect and sort items into linked containers.

They are obtained from the Vote Crate (5% chance) and are player-bound, meaning they cannot be traded or used by other players.

Linking Containers

Open the Magic Hopper menu.
Select the Nether Portal icon.
Click the container you want to link.

Supported containers include:

Barrels
Shulker Boxes
Other supported inventories

You can also unlink containers from the same menu.

Filters

Magic Hoppers can automatically sort items using Whitelist or Blacklist filters.

Additional options include:

Strict filtering (checks names, lore, enchantments and durability)
Container priorities
Copy and paste filter settings between linked containers

These options are available from the Magic Hopper menu.
